Lixar Pumps Up Ottawa Race Weekend Runners with Music
After weeks of training, Lixar’s Halifax office completed a Healthy Living challenge by participating in the Bluenose Marathon 5K. With two T-Rexes to help motivate them along the way, Lixar is pleased to announce that over 25 team members successfully reached their 5K goal.
This Saturday, 50 Lixar team runners from Ottawa HQ will also rise to the challenge by participating in the Ottawa Race Weekend 5K. To pump participants towards the finish line; Lixar and MEGAPHONO will have a stage set up at Queen Elizabeth Drive and Frank Street.
Lixar will showcase Ottawa’s music talent. Vibrant music artists taking the stage this weekend include Claude Munson and Saint Clare on Saturday; then King Kimbie, Lost to the River, and Shadowhand on Sunday.
No matter the distance – 2K, 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and marathon – all runners and spectators of this weekend’s races will be able to see the shows.
Emmanuel Florakas, Lixar’s President will be leading the charge with Lixar’s own Orange Team runners, with the Yellow and Red Teams to follow with joggers and walkers.
“Collectively finishing the race is the name of the game,” said Emmanuel Florakas, “having a bit of fun and listening to great music just makes the experience that much better.”
“Runners love to hear and see live music during their race. It can add fuel to an already great run or help to focus on something other than the run during a tough patch…Our partnership with Lixar will mean more local music and more awesome atmosphere for our runners and spectators.” said John Halvorsen, President of Run Ottawa and Race Director of the Ottawa Race Weekend.
