Polaris & Lixar Partner for Long List and Live Podcast Event in Ottawa
Taking place on June 13th at the National Arts Centre (NAC) in Ottawa at 7pm, this special edition of the Polaris Podcast will feature a roundtable selection of Polaris jurors as well as special guests. They’ll be tasked with discussing the freshly unveiled 40 album 2017 Polaris Music Prize Long List, which is being revealed earlier that day at the National Arts Centre.
Participating jurors and artists will be announced closer to the event. The event is free and open to the public.
“Music is more than just the backdrop to our day to day,” said Bill Syrros, Lixar CEO. “It’s what inspires us to create, innovate, and connect. We’re thrilled to partner with the Polaris Music Prize, who honour the artists that speak to Canadians and the world at large.”
“In Lixar, we are very excited to have a partner that believes in the integrity of the Polaris process, and are true fans of the records that emerge from that process. They are strong believers in music and community, and their support of the Long List and this event are evidence of that support,” said Steve Jordan, Polaris Founder and Executive Director.
The Polaris Music Prize will announce its 10 album Short List for 2017 on July 13th. The winner of the 2017 Polaris Music Prize will be determined at the Polaris Gala taking place September 18th at The Carlu in Toronto. CBC Music will stream the gala live.
