Spencer Gallagher: #Driven from Canada to Chicagoland!
There was never a question in anyone’s mind that Spencer Gallagher is #driven … but what was confirmed at the Chevrolet Silverado 250 race on Sept 4, was “man … can he drive“.
Throughout the Canadian 11 corner, 3.957 km road course littered with lefts and rights, 70,000 Canadian fans at the track watched as Spencer held a commanding top five position lead for 64 laps.
The Canadian Tire Motorsports Park course is 66 laps in total and 165 miles in length. Commentators and viewers alike on Fox recognized Spencer’s drive to contend for a Chase position.
@23Speedracer Spencer Gallagher races with passion and understands the physics of the sport. Technique and technology are embraced both by the driver and the crew. Pit stops are strategic with refuelling and crew’s pit lane efficiency at the core.
Spencer’s a class act and a great sport, too. He is always willing to answer a fan’s question, cast a smile or sign an autograph #Silverado250.
He understands the value of showcasing a can-do attitude which is laced with a desire to put his best foot forward regardless of the situation. (The Lixar team loved the fact that Spencer drove with Lixar socks on during the race … way to literally push the pedal to the metal.)
The Nascar Camping World truck series is definitely gaining momentum and fan attention. The Canadian Tire #Silverado250 maintained a viewership of close to a million on race day and millions more on-line and through social media channels.
Hardcore racing from the top 5 teams definitely gave the ratings a boost. The race was one of the top five telecasts of the week on Fox Sports 1.
The Gallagher team raced strong. Gallagher was top five, top 3 and lead for a few laps. The crew implemented a strategic pit at lap 38 helping to add the right amount of fuel to take him to the final lap and the checkered flag.
However, the outcome was not to be with Spencer being spun out by the number 2 truck with one and a-half laps to go.
The drama didn’t end their with Nemechek edging Custer out in one of the most contentious finishes of the year – two trucks, banging and battling it out on the grass (not asphalt) to the finish line. Nemechek won the race with a 0.034 margin of victory.

For Custer, Gallagher and other Nascar Truck Drivers, the events at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park won’t be easily forgotten. Chicagoland will be a battleground for the last entry position into the chase and competing drivers will be pulling out all of the stops to find themselves on victory lane.
There is one thing for sure, Spencer is #Driven from Canada to Chicagoland… and, the Lixar team will be watching tonight’s American Ethanol E15 225 race at 8:30 PM ET and cheering Spencer and the GMS Racing team on!
Go Spencer! Drive hard, have fun, and attack the Chicagoland track!
