As the Talent Acquisition Specialist at Lixar you will have an understanding of talent acquisition practices. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role supports the company’s initiatives to attract and retain top talent. This role will be responsible for recruitment activities for all of our locations – Calgary, Halifax, Ottawa, and Toronto.

What you will be doing:

  • Performing full life-cycle recruitment responsibilities for full-time employees, including recruitment strategies, screening resumes, screening candidates, conducting interviews, reference checks, new hire packages, and the on-boarding process
  • Supporting the leadership team with timely and accurate advice and services
  • Metrics and reporting of efficiency of the HR process
  • Attending various industry events for recruitment purposes
  • Supporting HR and Hiring Managers on staffing related issues
  • Advocating HR best-practices
  • Ensure the recruitment and selection process meets all legislative requirements
  • Perform other responsibilities as identified by the business and as assigned by the Manager, Human Resources 

As a Talent Acquisition Recruiter, you will have:

  • Good knowledge of HR practices and procedures acquired through completion of a related post-secondary degree/diploma and/or 5 years’ experience in a high volume recruiting and human resources environment
  • Prior experience in a recruiting role with demonstrated responsibility for end-to-end staffing processes 
  • Experience in recruiting for highly technical roles is preferred
  • An understanding of HR legislation and policies
  • The ability to be adaptable and resourceful
  • An approachable and personable attitude
  • The highest respect for confidentiality when handling personal information
  • Initiative and creativity when approaching challenges
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Proficiency with Google Suite
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities while continuing to follow up with hiring managers with progress updates
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent proofreading skills, grammar, and punctuation while communicating with candidates, stakeholders, and writing job descriptions
