Hello folks, and happy Friday! There’s been a lot going on in the local and emerging music scene all over Canada and the US. With Talents such as City Fidelia, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, and Andy Shauf, among many will be coming to Ottawa on February 7-9 for Megaphono, we couldn’t be more excited. Megaphono is a music festival and conference that focuses on exposing talent in the Capital Region, and what a wealth of talent there is. There will be 60+ artists sharing their story and creativity through music. Here is a list of the top 5 things we are excited to see and hear:
We are exciting to be presenting one of the headliners for Megaphono: Andy Shauf! With popular songs such as “The Magician”, and “Quite Like You”, in addition to a total of 5 million views on youtube, expect the crowd to be fully into the show and ready for a good night. The show is set to be played at the Bronson Centre Theatre (211 Bronson Ave), get your tickets now before they sell out!
City Fidelia is one of the most exciting acts being brought in this year. The Ottawa native has traveled the world performing at sold out shows, and has opened for the likes of French Montana, A$AP Rocky, and Mac Miller to name a few. He’s proud to be Ottawa born, and wants to see the music scene here grow and blossom to be one of the creative hubs of Canada.
Snotty Nose Rez Kids are storytellers, dancers, singers and artists; raised by their parents and their community. They say there’s a great deal of wealth in knowing where you come from, and they’re going to share that journey with Megaphono. This high intensity show will be played at Club 27 on February 8th
The talented multi-genre artist Kimberly Sunstrum blends a variety of genres to display the topics family, race, feminism, and queerness. Her performances are authentic and soulful, creating a deeply rooted bond with the audience. This excitingly intimate performance will show you different perspectives on how we navigate the world.
Born and raised in Ottawa, SeiiizMikk is an emcee, DJ and producer of Caribbean heritage. With artistic roots making and performing hip-hop music, the multi-disciplinary artist fuses both skills with live performance.
